Lake Ashi is a volcanic lake located on Mount Hakone, formed about 3,000 years ago. It is the largest lake in Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a highly popular sightseeing destination and a famous spot for viewing Mt. Fuji. The red torii gate standing in Lake Ashi is the iconic landmark of Hakone Shrine.

【Hakone Shrine】 Founded in 757 by Mangan Shonin on Mount Hakone, which has been a sacred site of mountain worship since ancient times, Hakone Shrine was revered by many famous samurai commanders, including Minamoto no Yoritomo and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Historically venerated as the famous shrine of Hakone Okongen, the guardian deity of the Kanto region, it is believed to bring good fortune in traffic safety, wish fulfillment, love, and warding off evil.

When it comes to cruising Lake Ashi, the Pirate Ship is undoubtedly the most unique choice—sail across the lake and soak in the stunning scenery! The Hakone Sightseeing Cruise is a major highlight of Lake Ashi, a popular attraction in Hakone. You can board the cruise from any of the three ports along the lake: Hakonemachi-ko, Motohakone-ko, or Togendai-ko. The fleet features three ships: the Royal II, the Victory, and the Queen Ashinoko.

Departing from Motohakone Port, you can enjoy spectacular views of the giant torii gate, Mt. Fuji, and Lake Ashi all at once. Therefore, departing from Motohakone Port is highly recommended! On clear days, the sparkling lake surface and the blue sky complement each other, creating a magnificent and breathtaking view.

Motohakone Port to Togendai Port: One-way cruise takes about 30 minutes, costing 1,700 JPY (at your own expense).

Located in Hakone, southeast of Mt. Fuji, Owakudani is a famous sightseeing spot. This volcanic valley was formed about 4,000 years ago during the final eruption of the Hakone volcano on the northern slopes of Mount Kami. Because the hot springs and steam here contain toxic gases, it was historically known as 'Great Hell' (O-Jigoku). It was renamed Owakudani in 1876 during a visit by Emperor Meiji.

You can try Owakudani's famous specialty, the Black Egg (Kuro-tamago), at your own expense.

A 15-minute walk from the entrance of the nature trail leads to 'Tamago Chaya,' a small shop surrounded by rising steam. The famous black eggs boiled on-site are said to 'add seven years to your life' for every one eaten. The eggs are boiled in 80°C hot spring water for an hour and then steamed at 100°C for 15 minutes. The shells turn pitch black due to a chemical reaction between the iron and hydrogen sulfide in the hot spring water and the minerals in the eggshell, forming black iron oxide.

Guests on the meet-up package can dismiss directly at Tokyo Station or Shinjuku.

Tokyo Station is located in Chiyoda City, Tokyo, at the heart of the Marunouchi business district. It was renovated in 2012 to its current state, faithfully recreating the original appearance of the station building from 100 years ago.

Shinjuku is one of Tokyo's most famous and bustling commercial districts. The popular areas are mainly concentrated around Shinjuku Station, extending to the East, West, and South exits. It is a shopper's paradise, packed with department stores, electronics stores, drugstores, and trendy fashion boutiques, with Odakyu, Keio, and Isetan department stores being excellent choices. Shinjuku is also home to Kabukicho, Japan's most famous red-light district, which features countless restaurants, bars, karaoke rooms, and entertainment venues, earning it the nickname 'Japan's Number One Entertainment District.'

Shinjuku Station is one of Tokyo's most vital transportation hubs, serving nearly 4 million passengers daily, making it the busiest railway station in the world. Other nearby attractions include Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden (a famous cherry blossom viewing spot), the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and Golden Gai.
